Sana Al Ahmad

“Married with six children, life has been very tough for my family and I who left Syria back in 2012 to seek stability in Lebanon. We arrived here not only physically tired but mentally and emotionally exhausted as well. I immediately joined the Amel Association and received training in a wide variety of different domains such as medical care, computers, accessories, recycling, speaking French, painting on glass and doing hair and make-up. I am very proud of all that I have learned and accomplished here the past few years leading me to now focus on sewing bags and scarfs. I strongly believe that a woman should occupy her spare time with something she is passionate about in order to develop herself. Amel means a lot to me and has become my second home where I consider the other women my own sisters – we are like a big family here.”
